Your experience

To be a Ximbassador you need the following skills and qualifications.

You will be:

  • a life scientist (e.g. in immunology, virology, biochemistry, cell biology, and molecular biology)
  • interested in science and wanting to gain experience in technology transfer and the commercialisation of tangible biological materials.
  • willing to commit to a minimum of 6 months as a Ximbassador
  • able to commit 5 hours a week
  • knowledgeable in understanding and presenting scientific information
  • able to show hands-on life science laboratory research experience
  • a faculty member, postdoctoral scholar, graduate student or member of technical staff
  • able to work effectively under the direction of both your university’s technology transfer team and as a member of the Ximbio team
  • self-confident, assertive, and self-motivated
  • a fast-learner, who gets things done

You will have:

  • an understanding of cell biology, immunology, genomics, biochemistry, molecular biology, and related life sciences
  • strong time management skills, attention to detail, commitment prioritisation abilities and the ability to take ownership of issues and tasks
  • experience with MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • the ability to communicate a value proposition and technical information to a range of audiences effectively
