Anti-BMK-13 [BMK-13]

Info

Applications IHC
Antigen/Gene or Protein Targets Eosinophil major basic protein (BMK-13)
Reactivity Human
Relevance Eosinophil major basic protein (BMK-13) is the main component of the cristalline core of eosinophil granules. It is present at high levels in placenta and pregnancy serum, where it may be involved in antiparasitic defense mechanisms and hypersensitivity reactions. BMK-13 has also been linked to epithelial cell damage, exfoliation and bronchospasm in allergic diseases. The antibody can be used for research in the field of Down syndrome diagnostics, asthma and cardiology.
Notes Useful pan-eosinophil marker in tissue sections (it stains most eosinophils).
Research Area Cardiovascular, Cell Type or Organelle Marker
