Antigen/Gene or Protein Targets | MMP14 (matrix metalloproteinase) |
Reactivity | Human |
Relevance | MMP14 or MT1MMP is an endopeptidase that degrades various components of the extracellular matrix, such as collagen. MMP14 activates progelatinase A (pro‐MMP2) and is essential for pericellular collagenolysis and modeling of skeletal and extraskeletal connective tissues during development. MMP14 is present in many human invasive carcinoma and is almost exclusively located to the stromal cells. |
