Anti-ATRX [39f]

Invented by Helen Turley from University of Oxford
Invented at University of Oxford

Info

Catalogue Number 151888
Applications IHC IF WB
Antigen/Gene or Protein Targets ATRX
Synonyms RAD54, XNP
Reactivity Human and Mouse
Relevance Monoclonal antibody which binds N terminus of human ATRX.

Background and Research Application
ATRX is a transcriptional regulator which is required for deposition of the histone variant H3.3 at telomeres and other genomic repeats. This is important to maintain silencing at these sites. ATRX mutations are associated with an X-linked mental retardation (XLMR) syndrome
ATRX is commonly mutated in cancers which maintain their telomeres by a telomerase independent pathway. This generates alternative lengthening of telomeres.

This antibody binds to an epitope between amino acid residues 85-319 in the N-terminal half of human ATRX.
Host Mouse
Immunogen Recombinant Protein
Immunogen UniProt ID P46100
Subclass IgG1
Myeloma Used P3/NS1/1-Ag4.1
Recommended Growing Conditions RPMI 1640 + 10% FCS + HAT
Notes Production Details
Purified using multi-step affinity chromatography with protein A.

Storage Conditions
Store at -20 degrees frozen. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Points of Interest
ATRX localisation, during interphase and in mitosis, was examined using this anti-ATRX antibody.

Concentration
1mg/ml as standard
Research Area Cancer, Cell Cycle, Epigenetics & Nuclear Signalling
