Catalogue Number 158050
Applications ELISA IHC WB
Antigen/Gene or Protein Targets Interferon gamma
Reactivity Salmonids
Relevance IFN-γ is a key cytokine involved in Th1 immune responses. It is mainly produced by T cells and NK cells, and drives both innate and adaptive immunity systems that promote protection against intracellular infections. IFN-γ is involved in activation of macrophages and T helper lymphocytes, stimulation of antigen presentation, control of cell proliferation and apoptosis, induction of antiviral state, immunomodulation, inflammation and leucocyte trafficking. IFN-γ is one of the most important cytokines in both innate and adaptive immune responses; therefore accurate assessment of IFN-γ levels is of critical importance in evaluating the status of the immune system.

An IFN-γ antibody would be particularly useful in examining immune responses in fish to infectious agents and in the development of protective responses after vaccination.
Host Rabbit
Immunogen Ovalbumin-conjugated synthetic peptide. Peptide immunogen is conserved in salmonids fish species.
