Catalogue Number 153343
Applications ELISA IHC WB
Antigen/Gene or Protein Targets ELOVL Fatty Acid Elongase 5
Synonyms Elongation of very long chain fatty acids protein 5; ELOVL5; 3-keto acyl-CoA synthase ELOVL5; ELOVL FA elongase 5; Fatty acid elongase 1; Very long chain 3-ketoacyl-CoA synthase 5
Reactivity Human
Relevance This protein is involved in the elongation of long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids functioning as a condensing enzyme that acts specifically toward polyunsaturated acyl-CoA with the higher activity toward C18:3(n-6) acyl-CoA. It may also participate in the production of monounsaturated and of polyunsaturated VLCFAs of different chain lengths that are involved in multiple biological processes as precursors of membrane lipids and lipid mediators. It is highly expressed in the adrenal gland and testis, and encodes a multi-pass membrane protein that is localized in the endoplasmic reticulum.
Host Mouse
Immunogen Peptide Sequence –NNVKPRKLR (peptide immunogen is identical in primates)
Positive Control Western Blot: Jurkat cell lysates. IHC: formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded multi tumour tissue microarray.
Subclass IgG
Myeloma Used P3X63Ag8.653
Strain Balb/c
Notes Recommended Usage Conditions: ELISA neat; Western Blot neat; IHC neat (antigen retrieval: microwave 20 min @ 800W in 10 mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0).
