Relevance | BCL-10 is an apoptotic regulatory molecule, of approximately 31 kDa. It was identified through its direct involvement in t(1:14) (p22;q32) of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma. In B-cell follicles, BCL10 has been shown to be expressed abundantly in the germinal center B cells, moderately in the marginal zone, but only weakly in mantle zone B cells. This differential expression is an indicator of its importance in maturation and malignant transformation of human B-cells. BCL-10 contains a caspase recruitment domain (CARD), and has been shown to induce apoptosis and to activate NF-kappaB. |
