Anti-UCP3 [A2 P2D5*A3] monoclonal antibody

Invented by Abdo Alnabulsi
Invented at Vertebrate Antibodies Limited

Info

Catalogue Number 158040
Applications ELISA IHC WB
Antigen/Gene or Protein Targets Uncoupling Protein 3
Reactivity Human
Relevance A monoclonal antibody (mAb) against human UCP3. UCPs are members of mitochondrial anion carrier proteins (MACP) family. UCPs create proton leaks across the inner to outer mitochondrial membrane by uncoupling oxidative phosphorylation from ATP synthesis. As a result, energy is dissipated in the form of heat. It is thought to play a role in non-shivering thermogenesis, obesity and diabetes. UCP3 is an important mediator of thermogenesis.
Host Mouse
Immunogen Ovalbumin-conjugated synthetic peptide: KVQMLRESPF. Peptide immunogen is 100% identical in many mammals including, whales, horses, bears, apes, monkeys, elepahnsts.
Positive Control ELISA- Peptide immunogen & recombinant protein Western Blot- recombinant protein IHC- formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded multi-tissue microarray (expression was profiles over 54 different human tissues)
Subclass IgG1 kappa
Strain Balb/c
Notes Applications and Recommended Usage Conditions:
- ELISA - neat - Recommended Peptide-immunogen and recombinant protein.
- Western Blot - 1:2 dilution - Recommended Recombinant protein. Single band at the expected size was detected in the positive control while no band was detected in the negative control lane.
- IHC - Recommended Neat, antigen retrieval: microwave 20 min @ 800W in 10 mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0.

Fusion Partner was Ag 8563
Unpurified; supplied as hybridoma supernatant
Research Area Cell Type or Organelle Marker, Immunology
