Invented by Abdo Alnabulsi
Invented at Vertebrate Antibodies Limited

Info

Catalogue Number 158035
Applications IHC
Antigen/Gene or Protein Targets Activated- Matrix Metallopeptidase 1
Synonyms Interstitial Collagenase, Fibroblast Collagenase
Reactivity Human
Relevance Matrix metallopeptidases (MMPs) are also named matrix metalloproteinases or matrixins. MMPs are involved in the breakdown of extracellular matrix in normal physiological processes, such as embryonic development, reproduction, and tissue remodeling, as well as in disease processes, such as arthritis and metastasis. Matrix metalloproteinase-1 (MMP-1) also known as interstitial collagenase and fibroblast collagenase is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the MMP1 gene. MMP-1 breaks down the type I, II and III interstitial collagens.

This antibody is significant as it recognises the activated form of MMP1.
