pFLAG-HBx vector

Invented by Dr. Michael Bouchard
Invented at Drexel University

Info

Catalogue Number 156514
Backbone Size (bp) 5428
Bacterial Resistance Ampicillin
Selectable Markers Neomycin
Vector Type pcDNA3.1
Synonyms nonstructural protein X, protein X, peptide X, pX
Antigen/Gene or Protein Targets HBx with FLAG tag at N-terminus
Relevance This vector can be used to express hepatitis B virus HBx protein in a variety of primary and cancer cells. The addition of the FLAG-epitope tag allows for detection in western and immunofluorescent cell-based studies and provides better detection ability than can currently be achieved with commercially available anti-HBx antibodies.
Research Area Cancer, Virology
Notes Multi-functional hepatitis B viral protein, non-structural protein X, that modulates mitochondrial function in host hepatocytes interfering with host anti-viral defenses, promoting viral transcription, and contributing to hepatocellular carcinoma development.
