Relevance | GPIb is a platelet glycoprotein and a receptor for von Willebrand factor. Consists of alpha and beta subunits. Forms a multiprotein complex with GPIX and GPV. Binding of VWF to this complex initiates platelet adhesion to the sub-endothelium after vascular injury. Binding of AP-1 to GP1b alpha inhibits binding of VWF to GP1b alpha. |
