Antigen/Gene or Protein Targets | Biotin |
Reactivity | Human |
Relevance | Anti-Biotin antibodies can be used to detect both biotinylated proteins and nucleic acids. Biotin is a water-soluble vitamin, generally classified as a B-complex vitamin. After the initial discovery of biotin, nearly forty years of research were required to establish it as a vitamin. Biotin is required by all organisms but can only be synthesized by bacteria, yeasts, molds, algae, and some plant species. |
Host | Mouse |
Immunogen | Biotin conjugated to keyhole limpet haemocyanin |
Subclass | IgG1 |
Research Area | Cancer, Cell Type or Organelle Marker, Cell Signaling & Signal Transduction, Epitope Tags, Metabolism |
