Anti-CD49F (Integrin Alpha 6) [GoH3] monoclonal antibody
NEW

Invented by Prof Arnoud Sonnenberg at Netherlands Cancer Institute

Info

Catalogue Number 154730
Applications FACS IHC IP
Antigen/Gene or Protein Targets CD49F
Synonyms ITGA6
Reactivity Dog, Human and Mouse
Relevance The ITGA6 protein product is the integrin alpha chain alpha 6. Integrins are integral cell-surface proteins composed of an alpha chain and a beta chain. A given chain may combine with multiple partners resulting in different integrins. For example, alpha 6 may combine with beta 4 in the integrin referred to as TSP180, or with beta 1 in the integrin VLA-6. Specific loss of this integrin chain in the intestinal epithelium, and thus of their hemidesmosomes, induces long-standing colitis and infiltrating adenocarcinomas.
Host Rat
Immunogen 1242-1255 of the C-terminus of the Human c-erbB-2/HER-2/neu protein. This sequence is identical in Rat neu
Subclass IgG2a

Myeloma Used Sp2/0-Ag14
Recommended Growing Conditions IMDM + 1% ZAP, 37 ⁰C 5% CO2
Strain Balb/c
Notes Directed against the Cdw49f-antigen, 120kDa, (GP Ic or VLA-6 alpha-chain), The monoclonal antibody reacts with platelets, megakaryocytes, T lymphocytes and common Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia cells (alpha-6 beta-1). In immunohistology the monoclonal antibody reacts with epithelial cells of a variety of tissues, peripheral nerves, microvascular endothelial cells, placenta cyto- and syncytotrophoblasts. Platelet VL-6 functions as a laminin receptor and platelet adhesion to laminin is inhibited by GoH3. GoH3 is a Rat monoclonal IgG2a antibody obtained by immunizing Sprague-Dawley Rats with Mouse (BALB/c) mammary tumour cells.
