Catalogue Number | 154068 |
Applications | ELISA IHC WB |
Antigen/Gene or Protein Targets | Mycobacterial 65-kDa hsp |
Reactivity | Mycobacterium bovis and Mycobacterium avium |
Relevance | The 65 kDa protein from M.tuberculosis and M.leprae contains a striking degree of sequence homology, differing in only 28 amino acids. This antibody can distinguish the two making it potentially useful in the serodiagnosis of tuberculosis and leprosy. In addition the C-terminal epitope of mycobacterial 65-kDa hsp is shared with human epidermal suprabasal cytokeratin 1/2 making this antibody a marker of cytokeratin 1/2. |
Host | Mouse |
Immunogen | 65-kDa antigen isolated from M.tuberculosis (RIVM-strain 7114) |
Positive Control | M.tuberculosis |
Subclass | IgG1 |
Myeloma Used | P3X63Ag8.653 |
Recommended Growing Conditions | RPMI 1640 |
Strain | Balb/c |
Notes | Reacts with M. bovis BCG, M.tuberculosis complex and M.avium complex. Does not react with 65 kDa protein from M.leprae. Epitope on mycobacterial 65 kDa heat shock protein mapped to residues in the carboxy-terminal region of amino acid residues 525-540. |
