Relevance | Tumor necrosis factor is a cell signaling protein or cytokine that is involved in inflammation, and specifically one of the proteins in the acute phase reaction. TNF is produced mainly by macrophages but other white cells too. Some of its roles are to induce fever, apoptotic cell death, inhibit tumorigenesis and inflammation. Diseases associated with dysregulation of TNF production include inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), Psoriasis, Alzheimer's and cancer. |
Host | Mouse |
Immunogen | Protein |
Subclass | IgG2b |
Notes | Validated for use in WB and ELISA. Some cross-reactivity observed with rHTNFα. None with nETNFß, nMTNFα, rMTNFß and rPTNFα |
Research Area | Cell Signaling & Signal Transduction, Apoptosis and Programmed Cell Death |
