Reactivity | Human |
Relevance |
Monoclonal antibody directed against CYP1B1, a possible anti-cancer target. Background and Research Application Cytochrome P450 (CYP) 1B1 is overexpressed in tumour cells and is recognised as a biomarker of the tumour phenotype. Cytochrome P450 1B1 (CYP1B1) is active in the metabolism of oestrogens to reactive catechols and of different procarcinogens. The cytochrome P450 proteins are monooxygenases which catalyse many reactions involved in drug metabolism and the synthesis of cholesterol, steroids and other lipids. Recent studies have highlighted the potential of this enzyme as a novel cancer therapeutic target, resulting in several clinical development programs focused on CYP1B1-activated prodrugs and CYP1B1 inhibitors. |
Host | Mouse |
Immunogen | Ovalbumin-conjugated synthetic peptide; PENFDPARFLDKDGL (aa. 437-451). Peptide immunogen is identical in mouse (Mus musculus), rat (Rattus norvegicus), dog (Canis familiaris), pig (Sus scrofa) and horse (Equus caballus). |
Immunogen UniProt ID | Q16678 |
Positive Control | IHC: formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded ovarian cancer sections; Western Blot: rhCYP1B1 from lymphoblastoid cells (Gentest); 10mcg microsomal protein / lane |
Subclass | IgG1 kappa |
Myeloma Used | P3X63Ag8.653 |
Strain | Balb/c |
Notes |
Production Details Purified using multi-step affinity chromatography with protein A. Storage Conditions Store at -20 degrees frozen. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Points of Interest The majority of breast cancers showed positive immunoreactivity for CYP1B1, and in each case CYP1B1 was specifically localised to tumour cells. Not reactive with CYP1A1. IHC antigen retrieval: microwave 20 min @ 800W in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0. Concentration 1mg/ml as standard |
