Relevance CCT alpha is a molecular chaperone that assists in the folding of proteins upon ATP hydrolysis. As part of the BBS/CCT complex may play a role in the assembly of BBSome, a complex involved in ciliogenesis regulating transports vesicles to the cilia. Known to play a role, in vitro, in the folding of actin and tubulin.
Host Mouse
Subclass IgG2b
Molecular Weight (kDa) 60
Strain Balb/c
Notes Recognises the beta polypeptide of the CCT chaperonin molecule complex
Research Area Apoptosis and Programmed Cell Death, Cancer, Cell Cycle, Immunology
