Relevance | Follicular dendritic cells (FDC), described as embryonal non-phagocytic reticulum cells are found exclusively in B cell-rich follicles of peripheral lymphoid tissue. In the germinal centres of secondary follicles their cytoplasmic processes form a dense network closely associated with the lymphoid cells. Although FDCs have a very dendritic morphology they are not dendritic cells and FDCs are not derived from bone-marrow haematopoietic stem cells. |
