Antigen/Gene or Protein Targets | activated human matrix metalloproteinase 1 (MMP1) |

Reactivity | Human |
Relevance | Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are synthesized as inactive zymogens with a pro-peptide domain that must be removed before the enzyme is active. MMP1 breaks down the interstitial collagens, types I, II, and III hence it is an important feature of development, morphogenesis, tissue repair and remodeling. The anti-activated MMP1 [clone 5C10] antibody specifically targets the active form of MMP1 and is suitable for western blot only; it does not cross-react with proenzyme MMP1, or proenzyme or active forms of MMP2, MMP3 and MMP9. |
