Antigen/Gene or Protein Targets | SPAG1 |

Relevance |
Sperm-associated antigen 1 (SPAG1) has been shown to be expressed in high levels in pancreatic adenocarcinoma. SPAG1 is found in high levels in testis and a large proportion of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinomas (PDAC). It has been seen that in PDAC's SPAG1 expression is predominantly cytoplasmic and confined to malignant cells. The extent and intensity of SPAG1 expression has been shown to be associated with stage and tumour nodal status and this has led to the suggestion that SPAG1 is a novel marker of PDAC progression. |
