Catalogue Number 151665
Antigen/Gene or Protein Targets PKC epsilon
Host Mouse
Tissue Embryo
Disease Keywords Cancer, heart disease
Model Knock-Out
Relevance The MEF PKCe KO Cell Line is useful for studying the role of PKCe in various biological processes. Clonal MEFs have been derived from PKCepsilon knock-out embryos and subsequently stably transfected with empty pcDNA3 CMV/IE hygo+. Matched isogenic cell line with PKCe re-expressed is also available. Cells have reduced migratory capacity compared to their PKCe-expressing counterparts. Cells were used to demonstrate a role for PKCe in controlling the traffic of beta1 integrins in motile cells
Production Details MEFs were derived from PKCe knockout embryos. Polyclonal PKCeKO cells were transfected with pcDNA3 CMV/IE hygro+ vector using calcium phosphate. Clonal stable cell lines were selected using limiting dilution.
Research Area Adhesion, Cell Signaling & Signal Transduction, Cell Structure and Motility
Recommended Growing Conditions Cells were selected, and are routinely cultured in DMEM + 10% FCS and 100ug/ml hygromycin at 30degC in a 10% CO2 atmosphere
Cellosaurus ID CVCL_AS81
