Relevance Monoclonal antibody directed against a marker of tumour metastasis.

Background and Research Application
CD44 is an integral cell membrane glycoprotein that binds to hyaluronan and is involved in matrix adhesion, lymphocyte activation, and lymph node homing. CD44 is expressed on multiple cell types and is involved in multiple functions including cell-cell interactions and cell-extracellular matrix binding. The CD44 protein is expressed as a family of molecular isoforms generated from alternative RNA splicing and posttranslational modifications.

This antibody recognizes an epitope encoded by exon v3 on the variant portion of human CD44.
Host Mouse
Immunogen Human chimeric fusion protein CD44v3-10-Fc
Immunogen UniProt ID P16070
Subclass IgG2b
Myeloma Used Sp2/0-Ag14
Notes Production Details
Purified using multi-step affinity chromatography with protein A.
