Anti-α1 Connexin [1A]

Invented at University College London

Info

Catalogue Number 151523
Applications IHC IF WB
Antigen/Gene or Protein Targets Connexin 43 (Cx43 or α1)
Reactivity Mouse
Relevance Connexins are a large family of proteins which form gap junctions. Gap junctions are cell membrane structures that facilitate direct cell-cell communication. Gap junction communication has been implicated in the patterning and development of vertebrate embryos. Individual connexins show complex spatial and temporal variation in expression patterns. This variation contributes to the control of intercellular signalling.
Host Mouse
Immunogen The peptide, EIKKFKYGIEEH, was coupled at the C-terminal end to bovine thyroglobulin at a final molar ratio peptide:thyroglobulin of 40–60:1.
Positive Control Heart & liver tissue from 6 week old mice; Heart tissue expresses predominantly Cx43
Subclass IgG
Myeloma Used P3X63Ag8.653
Recommended Growing Conditions RPMI 1640 + 10-20% FBS + glutamine (2mM)
Research Area Cell Signaling & Signal Transduction, Neurobiology
