Relevance | BCL2-associated transcription factor 1 (BCLAF1), also known as BTF, is a 920 amino acid protein that localizes to both the nucleus and the cytoplasm. Overexpression of BCLAF1 promotes apoptosis by preventing the transcription of Bcl-2. Bcl-2 is one of many key regulators of apoptosis which are essential for development, tissue homeostasis and protection against foreign pathogens. Four isoforms of BCLAF1 exist due to alternative splicing events. |
