Antigen/Gene or Protein Targets | Human Leukocyte Antigen-DR locus (HLA-DR) associated invariant chain (CD74) |
Synonyms | CD74 Molecule; HLA-DR Antigens-Associated Invariant Chain; Gamma Chain Of Class II Antigens; Ia-Associated Invariant Chain; MHC HLA-DR Gamma Chain; DHLAG; P33; CD74 Antigen; Ia-GAMMA; HLADG |
Reactivity | Human |
Relevance | HLA-DR-associated invariant chain (CD74) plays a role in antigen presentation. In addition to its expression on antigen-presenting cells, CD74 is expressed by carcinomas of renal, lung, gastric, and thymic origin and by certain sarcomas. The restricted expression of CD74 by normal tissues and its very rapid internalization make CD74 an attractive therapeutic target for both cancer and immunologic diseases. It has also been shown to have value as a gastric carcinoma marker. |

Notes |
Ultroser G can be used at 1% if the cells are not growing well. Western Blotting (starting dilution 1:200, dilution range 1:100-1:1000), immunoprecipitation [1-2 µg per 100-500 µg of total protein (1 ml of cell lysate)], immunofluorescence (starting dilution 1:50, dilution range 1:50-1:500), immunohistochemistry (including paraffin-embedded sections) (starting dilution 1:50, dilution range 1:50-1:500) and flow cytometry (1 µg per 1 x 106 cells). |
