Relevance Alkaline phosphatases are phosphodiesterases which remove phosphate groups from the 5' end of DNA, RNA and proteins at high pH. The placental-specific isozyme of Alkaline Phosphatase (PLAP) is found in trophoblast cells of normal human mature placenta, seminomas of testis and ovarian carcinomas. Detection of alkaline phosphatase in serum is a marker for ovarian and testicular cancer.

Recommended Growing Conditions RPMI 1640 + 10% FCS + penicillin (100U/ml) + streptomycin (100mg/l) + glutamine (2mM) + HAT
Notes AP-7/6/7 is recommended for APAAP immuno-alkaline phosphatase technique.

Ultroser G can be used at 1% if the cells are not growing well.
