Relevance |
Monoclonal antibody directed against FGF-3, key for investigating breast carcinogenesis resulting from MMTV. Background and Research Application Fibroblast growth factors (FGFs) can stimulate the proliferation of mesenchymal, epithelial and neuroectodermal cells. FGF3 belongs to the heparin binding growth factors family and is a member of the angiogenic fibroblast growth factor family. FGF3 is an oncogene frequently activated in mammary carcinomas resulting from the chromosomal integration of the mouse mammary tumour virus (MMTV). FGF-3 is implicated in breast carcinogenesis and mammalian development. |
