Catalogue Number 151098
Applications IHC IF IP WB
Antigen/Gene or Protein Targets Fibronectin
Reactivity Human
Relevance Monoclonal antibody capable of differentiating between cellular and plasma fibronectin, in healthy cells or tumours.

Background and Research Application
Fibronectin is a widely expressed extracellular matrix glycoprotein that is exists in two forms, a soluble plasma form and a less soluble cellular form. Fibronectin is involved in cell adhesion, maintenance of cell shape and migration processes including embryogenesis, wound healing, blood coagulation, host defence, and metastasis. Cellular fibronectin is often found in the stroma of malignant tumours.
Fn-3 can distinguish between human cellular and plasma fibronectin, thus making it possible to analyse the origin and levels of different types of fibronectin in normal human tissues and their related tumours.
Host Mouse
Immunogen FR5 cells, derived by SV40 transformation of human mammary epithelial cells.
Immunogen UniProt ID P02751
Subclass IgG1
Myeloma Used P3X63Ag8.653
Recommended Growing Conditions DMEM + 5% FCS
Strain Balb/c
Notes Production Details
Purified using multi-step affinity chromatography with protein A.

Storage Conditions
Store at -20 degrees frozen. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Points of Interest
The antigenic site recognized by FN-3 is lost after limited proteolysis of cellular fibronectin with alpha-chymotrypsin but not trypsin.

Concentration
1mg/ml as standard
Research Area Adhesion, Cancer, Cardiovascular, Cell Signaling & Signal Transduction, Developmental Biology, Stem Cell Biology
