Relevance MOS (or CSF) is a mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase kinase (MAP3K) that is present in eggs during meiosis. It is destroyed after exit from meiosis II before fertilisation. It provides a good marker for studies of oocytes during oogenesis and maturation.
