Relevance Tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), also known as cachectin, has been shown to play a role in antitumor activity, immune modulation, inflammation, anorexia, cachexia, septic shock, viral replication, and hematopoiesis. Four Tumor necrosis factor-α molecules are found in Salmon and Trout; TNFa1, TNFa2, TNFa3 and TNFa4. This antibody is specific to TNFa1 and TNFa2.
