Ximbio attends AUTM 2019

Ximbio has been attending AUTM – one of the most important events of the year for Tech Transfer Offices (TTOs).  

AUTM is the worlds ‘largest gathering of academic technology transfer professionals’, providing a fantastic learning and networking opportunity for TTOs from around the world. This year was no exception, with over 1900 attendees taking the opportunity to catch up with old friends, gain new insights and meet industry-leading partners.

We spent the event catching up with our partner TTOs, participating in over 100 one-on-one meetings and establishing new connections with some of the world’s top universities and research institutes. As all institutions are unique and facing different challenges, it was great to be able to discuss individual problems and answer questions in person. Many of our conversations were with TTOs who had received positive recommendations from other institutions about Ximbio. We were delighted by this, as we work hard to establish close working partnerships with our TTO customers.

Many TTOs highlighted the challenges and opportunities they experienced during their professional journeys in the tech transfer field. We heard about the importance of investing in the next generation of technology transfer professionals and providing graduate students and postdocs with experience of an alternative career path. The TTOs were very receptive to our Ximbassador program, particularly as it also links to AUTM’s tech transfer career training program, the AUTM Foundation.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at AUTM this year - The vibrant city of Austin, was the perfect back drop to the conference; the friendly and receptive atmosphere of the conference, the TTO’s experiences and being able to connect with customers and new TTOs, made this a conference we won’t forget in a hurry.
