CD36 Antibody (SMφ) is an IgM κ mouse monoclonal CD36 antibody (also designated CD36 molecule antibody, GPIV antibody, or SCARB3 antibody) that detects the CD36 gene product of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF, IHC(P) and FCM. CD36 Antibody (SMφ) is available as both the non-conjugated anti-CD36 antibody form, as well as multiple conjugated forms of anti-CD36 antibody, including agarose, HRP, PE, FITC and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CD36 (collagen type I receptor, thrombospondin receptor, FAT, GP4, GP3B, GPIV, PASIV, SCARB3) is a membrane glycoprotein on platelets, monocytes and umbilical vein endothelial cells. CD36 binds to collagen, thrombospondin, anionic phospholipids and oxidized LDL. CD36 plays a key role in both phagocytosis and lipid recycling, for constant production of mature spermatozoa. Mutations in this gene cause platelet glycoprotein deficiency. Three alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein isoform have been found for this gene. Thrombospondins are widely distributed proteins that influence a variety of adhesive processes and CD36 may have important functions as a cell adhesion molecule.0

does it work on 3T3-L1 adipocytes? any published paper using this cell lines ??

Asked by: fatmah
Thank you for your question. CD36 Antibody (SMφ): sc-7309 is recommended for the detection of CD36 of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF, IHC(P) and FCM. Since the antibody is recommended for the detection of its epitope in murine samples, it should work in 3T3-L1 adipocytes without any issues. There are currently no publications featuring this antibody and 3T3-L1 adipocytes that we are aware of.

What negative control should be used when using the conjugated version of this antibody in flow cytometry?

Asked by: TinTin
Thank you for your inquiry. We recommend using the isotype specific normal mouse IgG conjugated to the same fluorophore. For example, if you are using sc-7309 PE, then you would want to use normal mouse IgM PE, sc-2870. https://www.scbt.com/scbt/browse/antibodies-Control-IgGs-and-IgG-Conjugates/_/N-1j3ajah
