NCAM/CD56 Antibody (ERIC 1) is an IgG1 κ mouse monoclonal NCAM antibody that detects NCAM of human origin by WB, IP, IF, IHC(P) and FCM. NCAM/CD56 Antibody (ERIC 1) is available as both conjugated and non-conjugated anti-NCAM antibody forms. Neural cell adhesion molecules (NCAMs) are a family of closely related cell surface glycoproteins involved in cell to cell interactions during growth and thought to play an important role in embryogenesis and development. The expression of these molecules is widespread in all three germ layers during embryogenesis, but is more restrictive in adult tissues. NCAM expression is observed in a variety of human tumors including neuroblastomas, rhabdo-myosarcomas, Wilms′ tumor, Ewing′s sarcoma and some primitive myeloid malignancies. Multiple isoforms of NCAM have been reported in both mouse and human brain tissue. In humans, NCAMs arise from differential splicing and use of alternative polyadenylation sites of a single gene mapping to 11q23.

Hi, I would like to know the epitope that was used to produce the sc-106 antibody. Is it extracellular or intracellular domain of NCAM? Thank you

Asked by: Fred12
Thank you for your question. The exact epitope recognized by this mouse monoclonal antibody has not yet been determined. This monoclonal antibody was raised against CD56 positive cells of human origin. It has been reported that this clone recognizes and extracellular epitope of human NCAM.
