  • Tool name: CHEC-7 immunomodulatory Peptide
  • Alternate name: Human neuroprotective polypeptide Diffusible Survival Evasion Peptide (DSEP)
  • Sequence: CHEASQC
  • Description: The CHEC-7 (peptide sequence CHEASQC) peptide is modified from immunomodulatory CHEC-9 peptide by eliminating two central alanines followed by cyclization to be a more potent uncompetitive sPLA2 inhibitor. The neuroprotective/anti-inflammatory cyclic heptapeptide, CHEC-7, stimulates HSP70's disaggregase activity and is used in the study of protein aggregate disease, including age-related failures of protein repair like Alzheimer’s Disease. The peptide also showed promising results in treating Autoimmune Myeloencephalitis tested in a rat model.
