- Description: Monoclonal antibody which binds IREB2, involved in iron homeostasis. Background and Research Application IREB2 (iron regulatory protein 2) is an RNA binding protein and a central regulator of cellular iron homeostasis. This protein regulates iron levels in the cells by regulating the translation and stability of mRNAs that affect iron homeostasis under conditions when iron is depleted. In humans IREB2 polymorphism is linked to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (CPOD), lung cancer and Alzheimer's disease. IREB2-null mice suffer from anaemia, abnormal body iron distribution, and neurodegeneration. IREB2 also plays various roles in cancer.
- Immunogen: Full length His-tagged IREB2 of mouse origin, produced in E. coli
- Immunogen uniprot id: Q811J3
- Isotype: IgG2a
- Production details: Supernatant containing the monoclonal antibody is obtained from culturing the hybridoma
- Myeloma used: Sp2/0-Ag14
