Recombinant monoclonal antibody to CD8. Manufactured using AbAb’s Recombinant Platform with variable regions (i.e. specificity) from the hybridoma UCHT4.
UniProt Accession Number of Target Protein: P01732
Alternative Name(s) of Target: LEU2; UCH-T4
Immunogen: Thymocytes followed by Sezary T cells.
Specificity: This antibody binds to the CD8 alpha chain, at an epitope distinct from that recognised by UCHT14.
Application Notes: This antibody recognises CD8 alpha, a co-receptor for the T-cell receptor. It can be used to block lymphocyte activation (Martin 1994 & Olsson 1993).

Describes the generation of this antibody.
Flow-cytometry using anti-CD8 antibody UCHT4 (Ab00694) Human lymphocytes were stained with an isotype control (Ab00102-23.0, panel A) or the rabbit-chimeric version of UCHT4 (Ab00694-23.0, panel B) at a concentration of 1 µg/ml for 30 mins at RT. After washing, bound antibody was detected using a AF488 conjugated donkey anti-rabbit antibody (ab150073) and cells analysed on a FACSCanto flow-cytometer.
