Cat# | 152121 |
Applications | ELISA, IHC, WB |
Antigen/Gene or Protein Targets | CYP2R1, Cytochrome P450, family 2, subfamily R, polypeptide 1. |
Reactivity | Human and Mouse |
Relevance | Cytochrome P450 2R1 (CYP2R1) encodes a member of the cytochrome P450 superfamily of enzymes that are a group of heme-thiolate monooxygenases. Cytochromes P450 catalyze many reactions involved in drug metabolism and synthesis of cholesterol, steroids and other lipids. CYP2R1 expressed in the liver is a microsomal vitamin D hydroxylase that converts vitamin D into 25-hydroxyvitamin D (calcidiol), the major circulatory form of the vitamin. |
Host | Mouse |
Immunogen | Ovalbumin-conjugated synthetic peptide QPYLICAERR (C-terminal sequence). |
Positive Control |
IHC: formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded human kidney sections. Western blot: pooled liver microsomes. |
Subclass | IgG1 lambda |
Myeloma Used | P3X63Ag8.653 |
Recommended Growing Conditions | Dulbecco’s media containing 20% Fetal Bovine serum (DH20) prepared as follows (for final volume of 300ml: 237ml DMEM plus 60 ml Fetal Bovine Serum plus 3ml L-Glutamine). |

Image: Immunohistochemistry was performed on formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections and showed positive cytoplasmic immunostaining in normal liver (A) and normal kidney (B) as reported by literature. Primary colorectal (C) and metastatic (D) colorectal tumors showed moderate staining compared whilst normal colon mucosa was negatively stained.
