Relevance Recombinant antibody which can detect CD61 marker on megakaryocytes.

Background and Research Application
Integrins are heterodimeric cell surface receptors composed of alpha and beta subunits, which mediate cell-cell and cell-extracellular matrix attachments. Changes in integrin expression have been shown to be important for the growth and early metastatic capacity of melanoma cells and aberrant integrin expression has been found in many epithelial tumours.
CD61/ integrin b3 is a glycoprotein found on megakaryocytes, osteoclasts, platelets and their precursors. CD61 antigen plays a role in platelet aggregation and also as a receptor for fibrinogen, fibronectin, von Willebrand factor and vitronectrin. This is a recombinant version of anti-integrin B3 monoclonal antibody, which is widely used as a marker of megakaryocytes in bone marrow trephines.
