NS0 Cell Line

Invented at Medical Research Council

Info

Catalogue Number 153797
Parental Line NS1 (P3/NS1/1-Ag4-1)
Host Mouse
Disease Keywords Murine myeloma
Relevance A non-secreting cell line used to generate antibody secreting hybridoma cell lines.

Background and Research Application
NS0 is a non-Ig secreting, non-light chain-synthesising subclone of NS-1 (P3/NS1/1-Ag4-1). The cells are resistant to 10µM azaguanine, cells die in the presence of HAT medium. NS0 is widely used as a fusion partner to generate antibody secreting hybridoma cell lines and is also used as a model B-cell line.

The NS0 cell line is the property of MRC. Ximbio is unable to supply this cell line or derivatives of this cell line to commercial entities unless a license has been first secured from MRC, negotiated by LifeArc (formerly known as MRC Technology); requests for commercial use of this cell line will be forwarded to LifeArc.
Research Area Other
Growth/Phenotype Keywords Suspension
Recommended Growing Conditions Culture medium: RPMI 1640 + 2mM Glutamine + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).
Notes Points of Interest

NS0 Cell Line from murine myeloma has been used to culture NS0 cells expressing CD19scFv (a binding domain of B-lymphocyte antigen CD19) to screen hybridoma clones.

Concentration
Vial has between 1-5 million cells as standard, however this may vary.
