Info

Catalogue Number 153694
Applications N/A
Antigen/Gene or Protein Targets lactosamine (galβ1-4glcnac) epitope found in lipooligosaccharide (LOS) of pathogenic Neisseria species
Reactivity Neisseria sp., Neisseria gonorrhoeae and Neisseria meningitidis
Relevance Neisseria gonorrhoeae is a human adapted pathogen that infects the reproductive tracts of both male and females causing pelvic inflammatory disease (PID). In females, infection often goes undetected subsequently leading to issues with infertility
Host Mouse
Subclass IgM
Notes N. gonorrhoeae strain 1291 monoclonal antibody. Shown to recognize common antigenic region in gonococcal lipopolysaccharide (LPS). Recognizes conserved region on 6 different different gonococcal serotypes (90% of gonococci can be typed to 1 of these 6 serotypes). Useful for researchers studying function and structure of gonococcal LPS.
Research Area Bacteriology, Immunology, Microbiology
