Anti-Myelin Basic Protein (region Thr98) [98/P12]

Invented at

Info

Catalogue Number 153644
Applications ELISA WB
Antigen/Gene or Protein Targets Myelin Basic Protein (region Thr98)
Synonyms Myelin basic protein,
MBP, 20 kDa microtubule-stabilizing protein, Myelin A1 protein
Reactivity Human
Relevance The phosphorylation of myelin basic protein (MBP) has been shown to decrease the ability of MBP to aggregate lipid vesicles and consequently destabilising the compact structure of myelin, a destruction that has been observed in demyelinating diseases such as Multiple Sclerosis. (Yon, M et al. 1995) Clone 98/P12 is a useful detector of phosphorylated MBP by binding to Thr98 of human MBP in the phosphorylated state.
Host Mouse
Immunogen Synthetic peptide corresponding to human MBP when phosphorylated at threonine 98
Positive Control Brain tissue
Subclass IgG2a
Molecular Weight (kDa) 13-21
Myeloma Used Sp2/0-Ag14
Notes Suggested dilutions for use

Western Blot 1:1000-1:2000
Immunocytochemistry 1:400
ELISA Assay-dependent
